Tá daltaí ag úsáid ipad le cúig bliana agus na múinteoirí le hocht mbliana anois agus tá neart taithí faighte againn leo. iPad First Years 2020_21

We hope you are all safe and well at this time. This year, unfortunately, we could not hold a meeting for incoming first year’s parents. Therefore we will try to share here the information you need regarding iPads in Coláiste Eoin.

Students have been using ipads in Coláiste Eoin for five years now (and teachers for 8 years) and we have gained a lot of experience with their use In education during that time. As it happened, having ipads in place was very valuable during the lockdown, and those who were used to ipads in class were able to make the transition much more quickly.

In recent years Wriggle, the IT company we work with, have taken more responsibility more distributing and managing ipads which we have found beneficial. Taking the school out of the work flow has resulted in faster responses to queries and delivery of ipads. They will need to contact parents directly, so we will need your permission to share your contact details with them should you decide to buy an ipad for your son. Whether or not you buy a new one from them or use one of your own, all ipads in the school must be configured and managed by wriggle. The number of students using ipads has grown progessively to 65 out of 82 last year. We would urge you to join in this year - we can do a lot with ipads in education, but we can do a lot more if everyone in each class has an ipad. If financial reasons are holding you back, please contact the school and talk to us, there are some ways to help. Wriggle has also introduced three year plans, whereby you can pay for the ipad and books over the course of three years.
